Our History
Where did the name Stadium District Flats (SDF) originate?
Our first rental properties were acquired in 2008 in a small neighborhood in Southwest DC nestled between National Stadium and the future Audi Field. We called this area the “Stadium District.” Most of our early portfolio was made up of 1 bedroom apartments in small rowhouses, called “Flats.”
Our early properties in the Stadium District enabled us to see the unique opportunity residents had when they were able to live, work and play, without the need to get in their cars. We were inspired by impact of investing in urban, environment friendly and sustainable rental communities. Over the last 15 years we have expanded our rental portfolio across the country empowering residents in new communities to live, work and play locally
The pictured to the right is our original rental property. We have come a long way since renting to our first residents, Pete and Robin in 2008!
The Team
Tyler
Originally from the Northwest, Tyler got his start in Real Estate in Washington, DC! Tyler has experience building large public private partnerships in health security, building out large residential real estate portfolios, leading land development partnerships and founding local initiatives focused on strengthening the community for all residents.
Building on this vision that all residents should be able to Live, Work and Play Locally, the SDF Team has expanded their residential portfolio by adding new residential communities while continuing to focus on empowering residents and providing exceptionally run residential communities across the country.
In addition to real estate, Tyler managed large public private partnerships in Health Security and leads the Stadium District Scholarship Fund, a fund focused on the educational advancement of residents living in the Southwest Washington, DC community.
Elle
With over 20 years of experience in the real estate, architecture, and construction industries, Elle is a seasoned Property Manager and licensed Architect. Her impressive background includes designing residential, commercial, and office projects, and currently managing her own construction company. Her ability to seamlessly integrate creative design with practical management skills positions her as a key contributor to Stadium District Flats.
Elle excels in overseeing property operations, ensuring contract compliance, and handling tenant relations. She has a proven track record of enhancing property value, implementing effective maintenance programs, and managing large-scale renovation projects. Adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously—from planning and scheduling to budgeting and execution—her broad expertise underscores her versatility and creativity in the real estate and property management industry.
Theresa
Theresa recently joined Stadium District Flats as a Real Estate Property Manager Specialist. She brings a wealth of experience, having worked remotely for several years in the UK property management sector with Howsy. Theresa's expertise in remote property management, combined with her extensive background in handling various aspects of property management—from viewings and inventories to tenancies and repairs—makes her a valuable asset to our team. Her role in managing properties remotely has been a significant benefit to Stadium District Flats .
Theresa is the team lead for our newest community, District Flats Spokane Valley.
Sharmaine
Sharmaine is a dedicated financial professional with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, specializing in Financial Management. She brings a wealth of experience in accounts payable, having worked in both the racing and real estate industries.
Currently, she serves as the Principal Bookkeeper and Accounts Manager at Stadium District Flats, where she manages comprehensive financial records, ensures accurate and timely payments, and upholds the integrity of the financial processes.
Sharmaine is passionate about providing precise and efficient bookkeeping and accounts payable services. She takes pride in her ability to work independently while meeting the needs of both residents and the SDF team. Sharmaine is committed to continuous learning and improving processes.
